Lemons have more value than you think. This post covers 5 new ways you can benefit from lemons today!
When in doubt, add a lemon
1. Lemon Water
When you add that little lemon wedge to your water you are doing more than quenching your thirst. Drinking lemon water helps flush out unwanted toxins by promoting enzyme function which can lead to weight loss and other health benefits. It also is known to improve skin quality due to the high vitamin C (aids in decreasing wrinkles, brightening and clearing skin!)
TIP: Cutting lemon slices can be a bit sticky and inconvenient. Buy a 20oz bottle of 100% organic lemon juice and a small ice cube tray. Freeze the juice and then easily pop one of the lemon cubes in your water as you please.
2. Treats Indigestion
Lemon juice is a natural, healthy way to cure health issues such as indigestion or constipation. My favorite time to drink it is on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
Morning drink: hot water + organic raw honey + lemon wedge
3. Hair Treatments
If you are looking for a DIY hair treatment, lemon juice is a good ingredient. When used in moderation, lemon juice can give you a natural shine, treat dandruff, promote hair growth and brighten up your highlights.
Don’t over do it! Too much lemon juice can dry out your hair.
4. Skin care
Lemon juice can be used as a pain reliever for sunburns, bee stings, sore feet or tooth aches by gently massaging the juice on the bothered area. It can also be applied as a toner/brightener before your favorite face mask! So if you are into the all natural DIY skin care, definitely give this one a shot.
5. Weight Loss
As mentioned before, drinking lemon juice can help with digestion and work as a cleanse for your body. If you are consistent with drinking the lemon juice, it will help you feel less bloated throughout the day and maybe even shed off a few pounds.
