Blogging For Beginners: My Top Blogging Resources & Tools:
Below you are going to find a list of the blogging tools & resources I found gave me the best success. Whether they were easy to use, saved me time, or increased my traffic… I would not be where I am today if I hadn’t looked into trying out new blogging tools.
Everything I recommend is 100% my opinion and what I found is the best. As you will see, I am an affiliate for a few of these blogging resources but the majority of them, I don’t have a partnership with – I genuinely think they are the best option out there for your blog.
Hosting & Design
Bluehost
- Bluehost is Ranked as the #1 website host out there. If you are serious about building your brand / growing your blog, I HIGHLY recommend you own your domain name.
- Click here to read Why You Need To Own Your Website !!!
- When you use Bluehost as your hosting company, they allow easy 1- click wordpress download, 12 month, 24 month, or 36 month plan, the best prices, 24/7 help line & great security.
There is so much information out there regarding what to do and what not to do when starting a blog. So much, to the point where it can get very overwhelming and actually set you back from starting your blog already! Don’t let information overload hold you back & if you haven’t already, stop ready and go get started TODAY.
Canva
- A place to create all your graphics, logos, pins, photos, titles….EVERY THING. My biggest use for Canva is to create my post cover photos and Pinterest Cover Photos. You can use the free version or unlock everything for only $10 a month.
- Click here for a free 30 day trial!!
- My #1 source of traffic comes from Pinterest. (Currently my monthly viewers are at 175k and have been increasing by 15% for the last 4 nights!)
- One of the best solutions to getting recognized on Pinterest is GROUP BOARDS. This is a chance for your pins to get up to 100x more views than they would with your own boards.
- Looking to join a group board?! My group board is open to the public for 2 more weeks!!
Steps To Join Group Board:
1. Follow my Pinterest account –> CLICK HERE.
2. Click on the second board –> “The Lifestyle bloggers *GROUP BOARD*
3. Hit the button “Request To Join!”
EASY AS THAT and I will accept you asap 🙂
Tailwind
- SO. You have perfected your website, uploaded content, but missing one thing – TRAFFIC. Tailwind makes it SO BEYOND EASY to build an audience and get your hard work recognized. DON’T BE LIKE ME and put off signing up for Tailwind. (Once I finally came around and signed up it took my traffic from 3k- 120k in about 4 weeks…all while saving me 2 hours a day to put towards other important things for my business. that was HUGE.)
Building an Email List
SUMO
- I am very new to SUMO… & I can honestly say this is the best email forum popup generator out there! It is free for the first 200 contacts you make and SO easy to use. This will help grow your email list and keep it organized for you.
- Update: I started using SUMO 4 days ago – I published 2 different opt in forms and managed to collect 24 new emails OVER NIGHT. HIGHLY recommend you give it a shot as it is SUPER easy to implement and use.
SEO & Keywords
Yoast Google
- Yoast Google Suggest is perfect for improving your SEO. This tool helps generate ideas for new long tail keywords to add to your content. Just enter your keyword, and the tool will expand the keyword the exact way Google would suggest them to other searches. (aka making your content easier to find and more relevant of a post!)
Google Trends
- This free tool shows you all the trending topics on Google. Use this tool to compare two similar topics (I.g. apartment decor vs home decor) to see which has a higher search trend, what is more popular and what the most popular time of year is for any given topic.
